Karnataka Tourist Places
This fertile land of Karnataka extends from the Arabian Sea and the Western Ghats to the drier region of the Deccan Plateau. It evokes the image of oldest rocks jutting out in odd shapes, forests of Malnad soaked in rain, barren stretches of Maidan, towering temples, thousands of tanks, swift flowing rivers and streams skirting their way across the region; the sweet and everlasting fragrance of sandal wood and many more.

The landscape is varied, with a beautiful coast, flatland plains and a lot of mountains. It is dotted with hill stations, beach resorts and architectural monuments, making it a great vista for tourists with every kind of interest. The people of Karnataka are known as Kannadigas, which are the Kannada speaking people. The state provides an ample of tourist destinations like Bangalore, Mysore, Mangalore, Hampi, Gulbarga, Badami, Bijapur etc.

In northern Karnataka you will find the medieval citadels of the Deccan sultans at Bijapur, Gulbarga and Bidar, their walls enclosing mosques, audience halls and royal tombs. Mysore is a city studded with shady avenues, well laid out gardens, fine buildings and here is the climate salubrious throughout the year. The palaces are of worth seeing here. The ancient temples of 6th – 8th centuries are located at Badami, Pattadakal and Aihole, the earliest to be found in South India.

Above all, it is the great culture and tradition of Karnataka that pulls millions of tourists from all parts of the globe to experience the richness and hospitality of the Kannadigas that can only be felt when you are at anywhere in the state. So, stay awhile and discover Karnataka…
